ELEMENTS THAT TELL STORIES
ORMA is the Romansh word for ‘soul’ and reflects the company’s Graubünden roots. The two ibexes symbolise the two founders, who established ORMA Swiss Whisky Ltd out of their friendship. Drawing inspiration from an hourglass, which represents the transience of life, the ibexes also symbolise the duality of life – Yin & Yang.
As a tribute to time and the quintessentially Swiss art of watchmaking, the lettering incorporates elements of a clock. If you turn the ORMA whisky bottle through 180°, you can make out the Roman numeral 8. It is the same number that can also be found in the symbol of the Capricorns. It is the lucky number that also stands for harmony, unity and perfection.
DEDICATING THAT INFINITE MOMENT TO SOMETHING SPECIAL
Pouring an ORMA Swiss Whisky is akin to a ritual of appreciation. Just as when turning an hourglass anti-clockwise, time is symbolically paused. In this moment of pause, the infinite moment belongs entirely to the here and now, to what is special, to what is unique, to oneself and to the person opposite.
